Wind and Window Flower

The reason I chose the poem the Wind and Window Flower by Robert Frost is because as soon as I was finished reading it, I really loved it. I did not know what to say. Most girls like to read poems and books about love and I am no different. But, this poem is different it is not the typical love story where the boy gets the girl. It is about taking a chance with love, its sensual, it is about love lost. I see it as the winter breeze (boy) loves the window flower (girl). They are from two different worlds fate is against them and they will never be together. Even though the winter breeze makes the attempt to attract the window flower she "leaned aside" unaware of his true intentions. Hence, the chance for love passes.

Frost uses more then one important literary device but, the one that stuck out to me the most was his use of imagery. Especially the lines, "When the frosty window veil Was melted down at noon, And the caged yellow bird Hung over her in tune" Another great use of imagery that portrayed a clear picuture in my mind was "He was a winter wind, Concerned with ice and snow, Dead weeds and unmated birds, And little of love could know." Those two lines are such great use of imagery.
